We are the custodians of an amazing and unique place with an abundance of protected species, bushland, 75% of Sydney Harbour's seagrasses, numerous fish specifies and of course our Little Penguins and bandicoots.
In recent months, we have been involved in a number of environmental initiatives. We support the banning of boats anchoring in Cabbage Tree Bay to protect the seagrasses and for the safety of users of the bay. We also support a container deposit scheme (10c refund on recyclable materials such as aluminum cans, glass and plastic bottles when deposited at a designated collection depot) and have been developing ways for creative enforcement of fines for litterers, particularly to get the cigarette butts off the beach.
The creation of a world-class harbour pool for which Good for Manly has created a masterplan concept, with the view of providing a eco sanctuary for our marine-life and a fun, safe place for our communities to enjoy, is one creative way to contribute to the protection and enhancement of our environment.
