Our Track Record
Good For Manly has initiated and supported $28M worth of projects throughout the Manly Ward
over the past 4 years. Here are some on the short list.

Replaced Manly's Sea Nymphs Sculpture
In June 2016 huge seas destroyed the much-loved Oceanides sculpture at Fairy Bower Pool. Good For Manly led a community campaign that raised $57,000 to have the 'Sea Nymphs' recast by original sculpture Helen Leete. And this time they are in bronze & more Instagrammable than ever.

 Relocation of Community Northern Beaches
This crucial community services provider was forced to vacate its Wentworth St premises. We worked with the Mayor & Council to find it a new home in Raglan St, necessitating a $900,000 refit to create a better, purpose-built hub. It's now well set up in the old Soldiers Memorial Hall.

Kept "The Office' open
We've been working for years to make sure people can still enjoy a drink as the sun goes down at this lovely sport. Police & Council rangers now make sure drinking stops at 8pm and neighbours receive respect.

 East Esplanade Revamp
The fabulous new landscaping, retaining walls, seating and decking have transformed this much-loved area. And we finally have a stylish toilet block as well. It's the result of years of pushing this project through working with Manly Community Forum.

Manly Dam Playground Upgrade
Manly Dam is an extraordinary and sensitive bushland area.  I worked with Council to make sure the new playground was designed to suit its stunning location.  There's lots of greenery and soft bushland colours, but it's still lots of fun.

Re-instated Off Leash Dog Area at Manly Lagoon
Good For Manly worked with dog owners to overturn a Council ban on dogs playing off leash on the weekends. We've also increased the available off leash area at LM Graham Reserve.  Dogs have become an important part of our community and they need to be catered for.

Worked with Council on Clontarf Reserve & North Harbour Reserve Masterplans
We've made sure the community was fully consulted on these plans. The result for Clontarf is a smart new seawall with wide seating & an access ramp to the beach. The revamped playground is on its way. North Harbour will have extra landscaping, while keeping the much-loved open areas. Thanks to Nth Harbour and Clontarf Community Forums.

Worked with Council on Little Manly & Little Manly Point Masterplans.
We've worked hard, alongside Manly Community Forum, to incorporate community concerns in these masterplans, which will deliver a toilet and playground to Little Manly Point & bleachers & a path at Little Manly Reserve.  We also strongly supported the wonderful rebuild of Little Manly & Forty Baskets tidal pools.

,Advocated for a sensible solution to the Manly Resident Parking Scheme
Parking permits are no longer being sold online & street parking's available again for residents most of the time.  But Council started with a much more restrictive scheme & it took a lot of work alongside  residents, to get this sensible solution in place.

Balgowlah streetscape & Manly Vale clearway
We supported Manly Vale shop owners & overturned a proposed RMS clearway that would have gutted business in the shopping strip. In Balgowlah we've Initiated a long-term Traffic Plan for Roseberry St, and worked to make the revamped Balgowlah shops streetscape a success.

Hosted six Manly Talks
Good For Manly is committed to bringing the community together & improving our night time culture. We hosted six talks on topics including Cabbage Tree Bay, North Head after the fires, & stem cell research. We had crowds of up to 100 & showcased meeting venues, such as Manly Town Hall, St Matt's new auditorium & Royal Far West. More are planned.

Acted as an advocate on Council for community groups
Part of the vibrancy of our area is all the local community groups who provide services.  Sports, art, community care, local resident groups all play a major role. Good for Manly worked closely with these groups to provide assistance as required, and of course will continue to do so!
