Good For Manly represents a strong voice for residents who call the Manly Ward home.
Manly Ward is a local government division that includes the suburbs of Balgowlah, Balgowlah Heights, North Balgowlah, Clontarf, Fairlight, Manly, Manly Vale & Seaforth, with a population of over 55,000 people.
Councillor Candy Bingham together with the support of her Executive Committee gives Manly Ward a strong voice at the table as a tireless champion for community issues and advocate for transparency and due process in government. Her priorities are to balance the needs of residents and the visitors we welcome every year with the right balance of infrastructure that addresses accessibility, parking, transport connections amd recreational space while maintaining the vibrant footprint of Manly's famous "village atmosphere."
Candy has lived in Manly most of her life, and is a keen ocean swimmer, kayaker, bush walker & local history buff alongside her love of live theatre and the creative arts. Married to now retired Barrister Jeremy Bingham, Candy was the Lady Mayoress of Sydney from 1989-1991.She was first elected to Manly Council in 2012 and then the new Northern Beaches Council in 2017 where she held the role of Deputy Mayor.
She brings 25+ years career expertise in public relations and community engagement in small business, not-for-profit, corporates, local and state government operating her own agency, Tymson Communications. She is the author of five books and locally has served as Chair of Little Manly Precinct and on the the Fundraising Committee for the Manly Women's Shelter.
