Candy Bingham

President Good For Manly 
​Deputy Mayor Northern Beaches Council
Strategic Partnerships & Community Engagement

Candy Bingham is Deputy Mayor of the new Northern Beaches Council, where she will give Manly a strong voice a the table. She previously served for four years on Manly Council, where she was a champion for community issues and a tireless advocate for transparency and due process in government. Her priorities are to balance the needs of residents and tourists, address parking and transport problems on the Northern Beaches and to maintain Manly's famous village atmosphere.

Candy's expertise is in public relations and community engagement. She has more than 25 years management experience in small business, not-for-profit, corporates and government, both local and state, operating her own agency, Tymson Communications. She is the author of five books. Locally she has served as Chair of Little Manly Precinct, on the Fundraising Committee of the Manly Women's Shelter,  and on the council's Traffic Committee. She is a former Lady Mayoress of Sydney and Coastal Ambassador.

She has lived in Manly most of her life, and is a keen ocean swimmer, kayaker, bush walker & local history buff. She loves live theater and creative art.

Bruce Kitson

Treasurer GFM
Financial analysis & Forensic accounting.

Bruce is our financial guru. He  is qualified in accounting and legal matter and is an accredited forensic accountant. He is an expert in financial analysis and forensic reviews, and has repeatedly  used these skills to hold government bodies to account.

Over a long career, he has been chief financial officer for a number of public companies.

Bruce lived at Seaforth for 20 years and recently moved to Curl Curl. He is interested in governance and transparency and procedural fairness. He is married with 2 children and recently became a grandfather. Bruce enjoys cooking and eating.

Janne Seletto

Media & the Environment

Janne has lived in Manly for the past 15 years and can't imagine ever living anywhere else.

Her first career was in medicine - working mainly as an Emergency Medicine doctor at Royal North Shore Hospital. Her second career, which was more fun, was in journalism. Janne worked for the North Shore Times (sister to the Manly Daily) covering health and local politics, which she found unexpectedly exciting. 

She brings to Good For Manly a knowledge of print media from the inside, and an understanding of how important it is for local government to get things right.  She enjoys writing - in particular making complicated topics accessible to people who aren't experts, and working online.

Stephen Breckenridge

Secretary & Party Agent
Governance

Stephen has been a Fairlight resident for over 25 years.  He enjoys its feeling of space, fresh air and its casual atmosphere and can’t imagine wanting to live anywhere else. 

He was an International Tax Consulting Partner with KPMG in Sydney for 25 years. Following his retirement from KPMG, he continued working as a Senior Tax Consultant with Baker & McKenzie for 5 years. In those roles he travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the USA and brings to Good For Manly a wide experience of dealing with government agencies at many levels. 

Stephen is married with two children and five grandchildren. Between writing his memoir and following the Waratahs, Stephen enjoys gardening and long distance walking. ​

​Jeremy Bingham

Environment & Local Government

Jeremy Bingham has been a Manly resident since 2003. He has a strong commitment to the local area and the principles of local democracy.

Jeremy was Lord Mayor of the City of Sydney from 1989 to 1991 and has over 48 years in legal practice specialising in local government, development and town planning.  He currently operates as a consultant delivering strategic advice on council matters.

Having acted for many private citizens in their disputes with councils, Jeremy advocates that all councils should be fair, unbiased and reasonable in all their dealings. Jeremy also believes that State and Federal political parties have no place in local council administration.

He is also a keen kayaker, bush walker and theatre goer.

Kyeema Doyle

Town Planning & Sport

Kyeema has a degree in Environmental and Marine Science and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning.

She has lived in Manly all her life and sport has always been a focus. She represented Australia in the women's rowing team in the 2004 Athens Olympics. Ky is passionate about local sporting clubs and making sure they are well supported.  She is equally committed to supporting our amazing natural environment.

​After a number of years working in the Planning Department of the City of Sydney Council, Ky now runs her own business as a town planner in Manly.

Mark O'Brien

Local Business

Mark Is a successful local businessman, who has run his own health and wellness company Qi Health & Yoga since 2001.

In an earlier incarnation Mark spent 21 years in international marketing working with major brands with several large multi-national companies, before striking out on his own. 

As a successful small business owner he’s focussed on improving facilities and opportunities for the local small business community. 
As a yoga teacher and trainer, and local resident for 20 years, honesty and sound values are central to Mark’s work, and are what led to his interest in the independent and transparent approach of Good for Manly.

Mark has (mostly)  raised his family on the Northern Beaches. He is passionate about the environment and loves the bush, hiking, cooking, music and (of course) yoga.

Dorset Sutton

Marketing, Communication & Business

Dorset Sutton came to Manly ten years ago after a 34-year international career with Colgate Palmolive.

He uses his expertise in senior management and corporate strategy in his new career as a business mentor, with clients ranging from plumbers, to start-up companies, to senior executives.  He runs a Global Investment business, works as a market consultant, and is active on Community Boards - including the Manly Library Trust, and Support Programs.

Dorset loves Manly's village culture - being able to sit down with people from many different backgrounds. He is determined not to lose our beautiful village atmosphere. and  brings to Good For Manly his strategic "big picture" planning abilities, marketing and communication skills. He enjoys ocean swimming, kayaking, golf, walking, travelling and music.

Craig Smith

​Parking, Business, Governance

Craig is Mr Parking with three decades of experience in the car parking industry, including ten years as CEO of Wilson Parking, Australia's biggest parking operator. 

He understands the issues associated with parking and related traffic and access requirements, and has first hand experience of analysing problem situation and turning the around. Craig's other focus is governance - the necessity for structure, procedures and correct process in running a large and successful business.

Craig and his family have lived in Manly for over 25 years, with both children attending Manly Village Public School. Since retiring from Wilson Parking in 2015 he has been able to spend more time at Manly Golf Club and surfing at North Steyne.

Lloyd Keen

Marketing & the Environment
Lloyd Keen is an experienced businessman who has held senior management positions in major companies as well as working as a small and medium business operator. He is currently a consultant in strategic marketing and alliance development.

A  proud father and grandfather, he has lived in Balgowlah and Balgowlah Heights for 24 years and in Manly for the last 12.

An enthusiastic member of the community, he is a representative on the Manly Community Environment Committee and is associated with the Manly Environment Centre, Manly Food Co-op and Eco Divers, as well as an active member of the Ivanhoe Park Precinct and a co-founder of rDog (Responsible Dog Owners) Community Group, among others.

David Taylor

Insurance, Risk & Retail

David Taylor has lived in the Manly Council area for 20 years, the last 12 in Manly itself.

David brings a strong business focus to the Good For Manly organisation, having been a  great supporter of and participant in the business community in Australia.

David has been the CEO of the NSW State Chamber of Commerce for over 7 years, Chief of Staff to a former Federal Minister for Small Business, General Manager (Corporate Affairs) at Sydney Airport, Managing Director of an insurance company and is still active as a founding Director of another insurance company and an executive of an east coast law firm.

David is an active participant in all that Manly has to offer its residents and quietly assists some of our local businesses meet their community service obligations.

Roger James

Architecture

Roger loves the relaxed, beachside atmosphere of Manly and considers it to be one of the most beautiful places in the world, especially given its relationship to the international city of Sydney.

Roger practiced architecture in London, Bermuda and the Caribbean before returning to Sydney to take on the directorship of one of Australia's most prominent architectural practices. After ten years working on major national and international projects, he successfully operated his own Sydney practice for a further twenty years, specializing in marine, hospitality, retail and residential projects and attracting international, national and local clients.

Now retired, he maintains an interest in development projects in the municipality and their impact and is passionate about the general well being of the Manly community.

Roger enjoys art, especially Aboriginal and abstract art and is enthusiastic about good design, particularly in the built environment. He is well travelled, enjoys good food and loves to swim and surf.

Stephen Coulter

Financial Services & Online Entrepreneur

Stephen has lived in Manly with his two sons since 2000 and is a passionate advocate of living and working locally.  He brings strong financial services, strategic and innovative thinking to Good for Manly. 

He has held senior executive roles with National Australia Bank, Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, Optus and Pinpoint Marketing over the last 25 years in Australia, USA and Asia.  A regular visitor to Silicon Valley, he is aware of current business trends and is actively pursuing opportunities to bring innovative companies and services to Australia.

Stephen has been consulting and pursuing entrepreneurial ventures for the past decade and is the founder of  financial services technology company, Controlabill, and swimming social network, iSwimtoo.   He is s a year round ocean swimmer and Patrol Captain at Manly Life Saving Club where he has been a life saver since 2002.

As a sociologist and psychologist, Mark’s background is researching changes in Australian society and culture as well as consumer behaviour and market research.

He has had a long career in business including Market Research Manager of John Sands, Planning Director of McCann-Ericson and Saatchi & Saatchi, Managing Director of The Ball Partnership, CEO and partner of OMON Advertising and General Manager of Fox Studios.

Mark founded his own company, Benchmark Research, in 1982.

An active member of the Manly community, Mark volunteers his professional assistance to manly local groups.
