Candy Bingham (M.HRM & Coaching)

PR & Communications. Elected Manly Councillor

Candy Bingham has more than 25 years management experience in small business, not-for-profit, corporates and government both local and state operating her own  Agency, Tymson Communications. Her expertise is public relations and community engagement.

She is the author of five books including the Australian & New Zealand Public Relations Manual, which was the official text in universities and colleges for more than 20 years.

Having lived here most of her life, she was Chair of Little Manly Precinct for two years, served on the Council's traffic committee, is a former Lady Mayoress of Sydney and Coastal Ambassador. Candy has  attended most Council meetings in the past three years and was recently elected a Councillor.

Her focus is to get the balance right between the needs of residents in all neighborhoods of Manly, and upgrading the image of Manly to attract tourists who appreciate the unique offerings here. She wants to bring back the village character of Manly.

Candy is a keen ocean swimmer, kayaker, bush walker & local history buff. She loves live theater and creative art.

Lloyd Keen - Marketing & the Environment

Lloyd Keen is an experienced businessman who has held senior management positions in major companies as well as working as a small and medium business operator. He is currently a consultant in strategic marketing and alliance development.

A  proud father and grandfather, he has lived in Balgowlah and Balgowlah Heights for 24 years and in Manly for the last 12.

An enthusiastic member of the community, he is a representative on the Manly Community Environment Committee and is associated with the Manly Environment Centre, Manly Food Co-op and Eco Divers, as well as an active member of the Ivanhoe Park Precinct and a co-founder of rDog (Responsible Dog Owners) Community Group, among others.




Deborah Mooney - Human Resources & Retail

Deborah Mooney brings to the community a mix of entrepreneurial and professional business experience.  She was the founder of Moon & Mars, an accessories and clothing import business and has experience in human resources & marketing.

Deborah  is an active member of the Manly community and mother of three children.  She has served on several local fundraising committees and supports the Manly business community as founder of the online marketing and promotion venture I Love Shopping Manly. 

Deborah is a long time Manly resident.  Her two sons currently attend the St. Augustine College in Brookvale and her daughter attends Manly West public school.  She is currently studying Ceramics at TAFE.

Shelley Broxom (MBA exec AGSM, B. Business) -
Insurance & Risk Management

Shelley Broxom’s expertise is in insurance and risk management having held National Manager positions for major portfolios with general insurers. She has consulted to government and large insurers for over 10 years. Shelley specialises in advice on policy development, strategic and hands-on operational matters.
She has lived in Manly for five years and brings a new focus on the needs of Manly residents and is excited about what “Good For Manly” can do for the community. She was attracted to the area because of the village atmosphere and is keen that this should remain a fundamental feature of the local community.

Shelley and her husband have been involved with local youth sport through their association with the Manly Roos. In 2011, she and was Treasurer for the New Zealand Rugby tour fundraising committee.


Alex Cuthill - Student of Natural Resources & Economics

Alex Cuthill brings a fresh approach to how things could be done in Manly and is currently studying the economics of natural resources at  Sydney University. He was born in Manly and has lived locally his whole life, although has benefited from several trips overseas.

When he was school captain of Manly Selective Campus, Alex oversaw and orchestrated numerous fundraisers, environmental initiatives and community involvement by the school.

He has a passionate interest in the future of our area, and wishes to see more community involvement, especially from youth and the elderly

Stephen Coulter (B. Bus Accounting)
- Financial Services & Online Entrepreneur

Stephen Coulter has lived in Manly with his two sons since 2000 and is a passionate advocate of living and working locally.  He brings strong financial services, strategic and innovative thinking to Good for Manly. 
Stephen  has held senior executive roles with National Australia Bank, Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, Optus and Pinpoint Marketing over the last 25 years in Australia, USA and Asia.  A regular visitor to Silicon Valley, he is aware of current business trends and actively pursuing opportunities to bring innovative companies and services to Australia.
Stephen has been consulting and pursuing entrepreneurial ventures for the past decade and is Founder of  financial services technology company, Controlabill, and swimming social network, iSwimtoo.
Stephen is a year round ocean swimmer and Patrol Captain at Manly Life Saving Club where he has been a life saver since 2002.

David Taylor - Insurance/Risk/Retail

David Taylor has lived in the Manly Council area for 20 years, the last 12 in Manly itself.

David brings a strong business focus to the Good For Manly organisation, having  been a strong supporter of and participant in the business community in Australia. David has been the CEO of the NSW State Chamber of Commerce for over 7 years, Chief of Staff to a former Federal Minister for Small Business, General Manager (Corporate Affairs) at Sydney Airport, Managing Director of an insurance company and is still active as a founding Director of another insurance company and an Executive of an east coast law firm.

David is an active participant in all that Manly has to offer its residents and quietly assists some of our local businesses meet their community service obligations.

Jeremy Bingham - Environment & Local Government

Jeremy has been a Manly resident since 2003 with a strong commitment to the local area and the principles of local democracy.

A former Lord Mayor of the City of Sydney (1989 – 1991), Jeremy has over 48 years in legal practice specialising in local government, development and town planning.  He currently operates as a Consultant delivering strategic advice on council matters.

Having acted for many private citizens in their disputes with councils, Jeremy advocates that all councils should be fair, unbiased and reasonable in all their dealings. Jeremy also believes that State and Federal political parties have no place in local council administration.

He is also a keen kayaker, bush walker and theatre goer.


David Jones - Corporate Advisory & Investment Management

David Jones (M.A. Grad Dip Investment Management FAICD, FAIM, FAIBF) is a highly regarded senior executive with vast international experience.

He has specialised, for the past 30 years, in successfully taking complex businesses to their next competitive levels of development.

David has worked hands-on with start up businesses right though to complex and robust international businesses.

 His strong strategic focus brings keen vision and disciplined direction to every assignment, with operational excellence being continuously refined, measured, and benchmarked to allow businesses to implement strongly, and grow on the most solid of platforms. This wealth of experience includes board and industry level representation.

Peter Greentree - Finance & Investment

Peter is a lifelong resident of Manly and is passionate about the sustainable development of the local area and the need to engage all stakeholders in the management of our unique environment.

He has worked in the Banking and Asset Management industries for over 30 years and has held senior management positions in both global and local organisations including Commonwealth Bank, Deutsche Asset Management and Challenger Ltd.

Peter brings a strong financial background to the Good For Manly team and has been a strong advocate of sound governance practices and accountability within both large and small businesses.

Peter is married with two children and is a keen road cyclist when he is not playing bus driver to his children.


Margo Bavinton - Art & Business

Manager and owner of Art Around Australia, Margo Bavinton, has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New England, Armidale, and has had 25 years experience in fine art gallery management, sales and marketing. As a Certified Practising Member of The Auctioneers and Valuers’ Association, she specializes in valuations of Aboriginal art, Australian contemporary fine art, and maritime art & artifacts.

Other projects include the position of editor of the Art Gallery of NSW Society’s LOOK magazine; curator of the Manly by Ferry exhibition (April 05 to Apr 06) and Royal Far West – Caring for Country Kids in Manly exhibition (Sept 10 to Sept 11) both of which were held at the Manly Art Gallery & Museum.


Sarah Williams - Art & Community

As an active member of Manly Life Saving Club and a keen ocean swimmer, Sarah Williams has lived in Manly since 1988.

With a degree in Social Science from the U.K. her background is in executive search and recruitment.


Currently Sarah is completing a Master of Art degree at the College of Fine Arts at University of NSW.

She has served on a number of charity fundraising committees including Manly Women’s Shelter and Brainwave, a charity dedicated to children’s neurological disorders.  She has also been a Nipper parent and involved with Manly Skiff Club.
Sarah is the mother of two teenage boys and a dog called Louie.


Mark de Teliga - Social Research & Mental Health

As a sociologist and psychologist, Mark’s background is researching changes in Australian society and culture as well as consumer behavior and market research.

He has had a long career in business including Market Research Manager of John Sand; Planning Director of McCann-Ericson and Saatchi & Saatchi; Managing Director of The Ball Partnership; CEO and partner of OMON Advertising; General Manager of Fox Studios.

Mark founded his own company, Benchmark Research, in 1982.

An active member of the Manly community, Mark volunteers his professional assistance to manly local groups.

He is currently undertaking a major research project for Good for Manly establishing what residents and ratepayers want.
