Royal Far West Monstrosity approved!

Royal Far West development approved by Planning Assessment Panel with minor conditions. Disgraceful outcome. Is this what the community can expect from NSW Government's new planning process? http://www.pac.nsw.gov.au/Projects/PACDeterminations/tabid/104/ctl/viewreview/mid/459/pac/282/view/readonly/myctl/rev/Default.aspx

so very disappointing and morally wrong, now lets hope Dept Ed does not give their land for the hotel to be built on, but consider MVPS and their overflowing numbers and those parcels of land are left with Dept Ed and used by the MVPS and not a unfair swap of a floor or 2 for the whole expensive land, and hoping that the RFW does keep its promise to work with the community that has supported them all these years too, as we have to live here after the huge development is done, and lets hope the site is not sold to overseas investors who might re apply for more bulk too, well done to all who attended PAC and did so well

What is so very disappointing and morally wrong is that a very small minority in Manly continue to oppose a development that will ensure the future of a treatment centre for children from regional NSW who have neuro-developmental disorders and learning difficulties. The RFW school which sits on the same site as the RFW is integral to the diagnosis and treatment of those children. It has been so for over 50 years and will continue to be so for the next half century. It is not surplus land. The school only accommodates children from the country who are in Manly for evaluation and their siblings.
Where will those children go if your proposal was ever to be accepted. Depriving sick county kids for the benefit of the locals. That is just not on!!!
I should also point out that the RFW has been resident in Manly for 90 years and plans to be here for another 90 and while the Manly community used to be a strong supporter of the organisation over the past 5 years it has contributed less that $15,000 in donations.
The RFW also employs more than 60 locals and contributes over $2.5 million to the local economy through their wages.
