Would you pay for a rubbish view?

The Council has just installed much needed rubbish bins in East Esplanade Reserve - but who decided that a set should be placed right in front of the view of the harbour of one of our most popular restaurants?

This is such poor planning. Locals are also concerned that there is still no receptacle for cigarette butts (except the ground!). This was a Council decision because the reserve is a "non-smoking zone" ... but nobody knows that!

Three cheers for more bins in Manly.
... unfortunately, the sad reality is that not everyone shows regard for placing rubbish in the nearest bin .. and the popularity of Manly requires more options to encourage and make it easier to do the right thing.

Boo for decision regarding placement !
... As soon as we saw the concrete base, we knew there would be issues with the placement across from Garfish and the other in front of the property on the corner of Victoria/East Esplanade).

Surely, there are better positions for these ... !

Cigarette butts cause environmental damage .. so the Council should definitely include easy ways for smokers to dispose (it wouldn't hurt for a campaign to encourage restaurants to provide suitable units for their patrons ... there are lots of butts outside many eating establishments).
