The Good For Manly Association
An incorporated Association was formed in January 2012 with the view to providing a forum for residents of the Manly local government area to have a more active voice in it's community.
The objectives of Good For Manly are to:-
1. Protect and promote the interests and welfare of all of the residents and ratepayers of the Municipality of Manly (“Manly”).
2. Encourage, nurture and develop a strong sense of community amongst the residents and ratepayers of Manly.
3. Nurture, preserve and enhance the historical village centre of Manly for the benefit of all Manly residents, ratepayers and visitors.
4.. Protect, preserve and enhance the natural attributes, and the native flora and fauna, of Manly.
5. Promote and develop Manly’s national and international reputation as a world-class tourism destination.
6. Ensure that Manly Council and its staff operate in all respects in accordance with world’s best practice.
7. Encourage and support the election of suitable candidates to Manly Council and monitor and support them, once elected, in the proper performance of their functions as councillors.

There are a number of ways you can become involved - it's really up to you. Here are a few options:
- Become a member and pay annual membership fee of $20
- Join a Project Group*
- Become a volunteer**
- Consider standing as a candidate for the Council election on 8 September 2012

Good for Manly (GFM) Project Groups
As we develop ideas and solutions for our wonderful area, we will be setting up project groups, headed by an expert in the area, to research and prepare viable projects. These may include:
- Community Cycling Solutions
- Community Wi Fi in the Corso
- Revitalisation of Manly's Village atmosphere
- Renewal of Manly Cove Precinct
- An Arts Precinct
- No Plastic Bags in Manly Campaign
- Whistler Street Piazza
- Creative ideas for litter management & cigarette butt disposal
- Identification of special projects per precinct area, eg Seaforth, Balgowlah Heights, Fairlight, Balgowlah etc.
