Candy Bingham
Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement
Candy was an independent councillor on the former Manly Council and successfully stopped the deeply flawed Manly Oval Car Park and Manly2015 Plan. She served on ten council committees. She is currently Deputy Mayor of the Northern Beaches Council and has a total of 8 years experience as a Councillor. Deeply involved in Manly, Candy supports the community push to ban boats to protect Cabbage Tree Bay and ran a successful campaign to save the iconic Manly Ferries. She acted as chief fundraiser to recreate the iconic Sea Nymphs sculpture at Fairy Bower, was former Chair of Little Manly Precinct, and served on fundraising committees for Manly Women’s Shelter, Manly Rotary and Pioneer Clubhouse. With more than 25 years management experience running her own Public Relations & Marketing agency, Tymson Communications, Candy has worked with small business, not-for-profits, major corporations and local and state governments. She is a former Lady Mayoress of Sydney, Coastal Ambassador and the co-author of the recognised textbook on Public Relations in Australia. Candy is a 3rd generation Manlyite, and is a keen ocean swimmer, bush walker, supporter of the arts and local history buff. |
Scott PorterTechnology and Small Business
After living and working in a variety of locations in Australia and overseas, Scott and his family settled in the Manly area over 25 years ago. During that time Scott has been an energetic participant in the local community by being Secretary of the Balgowlah Heights Precinct Committee, Vice Chair of the Balgowlah Heights Primary School P&C and is currently an active volunteer for Marine Rescue Middle Harbour. He has been involved in numerous charities including Oxfam trail walker, BlazeAid, and Tour De Rocks. Scott is an experienced executive in the digital and technology sectors, with specific skills encompassing leadership, general management, sales, strategy, and marketing disciplines. He is passionate about building positive cultures that deliver sustainable outstanding results. More recently Scott has been working with start-up and early-stage growth companies, helping them with funding, growth strategies (sales and marketing), people, and brand. Scott is a keen road cyclist and long-time competitive mountain biker. He also enjoys bush walking in the beautiful open spaces in and around the Northern Beaches area. |
Sonia WalshManagement and Finance
Sonia has 20 plus years experience in management consulting with a focus on the successful delivery of change programs. She has worked across diverse projects and industries, including telecommunications, government, health and retail. Sonia has taken on the roles of program and project director, and specialised in corporate governance, risk management, program and project management, change management and process transformation. She has lived and worked in a variety of locations across Europe and moved to Australia almost 20 years ago. Sonia is actively involved in the Northern Beaches community, volunteering in the following roles: P&C President at St Cecilia’s Balgowlah Catholic Primary school 2017-2019 and now as a member of their Advisory Committee; and volunteering each week at Seaforth FC, Balgowlah Suns AFL and Queenscliff SLSC where she manages teams and officiates at events. She also gives time to Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army and recently walked part of the Larapinta trail, NT to raise money for Community Northern Beaches Married with children, Sonia enjoys fitness training, sailing, road and mountain biking and bush walking in this stunning area. |
