Finally Transport NSW has conceded major issues with the Emeralds servicing Manly, with the Chief Operations Officer Howard Collins doing a review of their performance & defects, which are many and major. (source: Daily Telegraph, 27/5/22).
He has also said that all future vessel's will be built in Australia! Now, we just need to convince him that look-alive ELECTRIC Freshwater ferries is what Manly needs for this iconic route.

I have asked the government for the criteria they use to determine that the emerald ferries were seaworthy. To date I have not received a reply. I wonder if this information is “ confidence in cabinet”

Full support for review. Regret the new ferries are not safe in high weather. They are good to travel in, but safety in all weathers for passengers and crew must be the only non negotiable high priority

Just give the Freshwater Class a 'refresh and a refit' and Bring them back!

I am firmly in favour of bringing back the freshwater class ferries, instead of the fault-ridden catamarans which take excessively long to load and unload passengers. If making the freshwater class vessels electric is a viable option, then that would be excellent.
