Designs for a new toilet block to replace the one washed away in the June '16 storms that all but destroyed Marine Parade walkway, are on public exhibition by the Northern Beaches Council. ,When we asked the community for comments on the Good For Manly Facebook page one of the main concerns seemed to be the proposed unisex toilets, rather than separate male and female facilities.
The addition of an outside shower was popular being close the the change rooms themselves, although we also want o keep the shower by the pool too! We also received feedback from a diver who reported that parts of the old toilet block are still clearly visible on the ocean floor. It is expected work will commence on the new facilities mid year. Good for Manly has made a submission to Council incorporating comments received. What do you think?

Facilities look well designed to suit all needs I hope this will get underway without more delay and without the usual endless objections that accompany any propsals in Manly.

The new change rooms should have separate men's and women's change room and toilets. This is standard in other places.

This amenity looks to be very adequate and no doubt will be used by many. What arrangements are there for regular cleaning throughout the day...particularly extra checks in peak season ?

The design looks fine but presumably the next time there is a big easterly storm the building will be buffeted by large seas again. Could council consider a slightly elevated facility (say 3 steps up to it) so any big seas would wash harmlessly underneath the building?

The old toilet block was cute and in its own way added to the charm of the area, not just a utilitarian box. Here's hoping the new one fits in too.

Looks attractive, and if the cubicles are separate and private, Unisex is better utilization of facilities. Needs to be "monsoon" proof!

Lets hope the colour scheme acknowledges the adopted Council colours and not an entirely new proposal by new consultants, Manly's urban fabric is slowly becoming to look like an 'box of licorice all sorts'.
